Cigar favorites of an old-timer

I've been smoking cigars for 45 years, during which time I was forever in search of the cigar that would be just perfect for my taste. I would stumble upon some Cubans from time to time, and I, like most everyone else, found them to be the best of the best. Recently, however, the Cubans I've been smoking seem to have somewhat diminished in quality. Whether that is actually the case or not, I just don't know. It could be that my palate has been influenced by the great satisfaction I've been getting from the Camacho Jamastrans I've been smoking over the past 5 or 6 years. I have a Camacho Havana with my morning coffee, and after dinner I have a Camacho Monarca. Although I do like maduros, the Camacho Monarca maduro is just a tad too strong for me, so it's the natural Monarca that acompanies me into my evenings.

Whenever I now sample any other cigar, I find that it is never the equal of a Camacho; nor will I even bother to try cigars that come from anywhere other than Central America. It's taken me many years, but at last I've come to an understanding of just what it is that I'm looking for whenever I light up.
